PASADENA, Calif. — October 27, 2026. The Pasadena City Council’s October 27 agenda includes a request to accept $265,000 from L.A. Care Health Plan to establish an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Program through the Office of the Young Child.
What residents should know
Staff recommend increasing the City Manager’s Office FY2027 operating budget by the same grant amount and adding one time-limited full-time-equivalent position. The proposal links municipal early-childhood services to funding for prevention and family support. Specific activities, service settings and eligibility would be defined during implementation.
What is not yet confirmed
The city’s agenda is not a published enrollment announcement for individual families and does not guarantee a free clinical appointment for every Pasadena child. The resolution and 1.0 FTE staffing proposal were awaiting an independently confirmed vote when this report was written.
